ReadCue
A Chrome extension, built with OpenAI Codex, to answer one question: have I already read this?
What it does
ReadCue shows whether the current page is saved, unread or already read (watched or unwatched, for YouTube videos), and lets me add, mark or remove it without leaving the page. Statuses are always set manually, never guessed. It ignores supported tracking parameters when matching links, so the same article is still recognized when its link varies.
Everything stays local in the browser: no servers, no analytics, no ads.
Why I built it
I had this problem on sites like SVPG’s articles page: lots of articles, and no easy way to tell which ones I had already read. I wanted a tool that would tell me, and let me save the rest for later. I also wanted it to work across devices, so I built ReadCue with OpenAI Codex on top of Chrome’s own Reading List, which syncs by itself and needs no account. The catch: it only works on desktop Chrome.
